About PB Prizes

Who Built This?

PB Prizes is an independent project built and maintained by a UK-based developer. I created this site because I hold Premium Bonds myself and wanted better tools than what was available elsewhere — particularly a calculator that shows realistic median returns rather than misleading averages, and a checker that lets you verify high-value prizes before the official results.

Why Does This Site Exist?

Most Premium Bonds calculators online use the "average" return rate, which is skewed by the £1 million jackpots that almost nobody wins. This gives people unrealistic expectations. Our calculator uses Monte Carlo simulations to show you what you're actually likely to win — the median return that half of holders will beat and half will fall short of.

The bond checker lets you check all prize values as soon as results are released — and because it runs on independent infrastructure, it keeps working even when NS&I's own app crashes on draw night. Everything is processed locally in your browser.

The Midnight Club forum exists because Premium Bonds holders enjoy discussing the monthly draws, sharing wins, and connecting with others who share the same interest. It's named after the tradition of checking results at midnight on draw day.

What's Available

The site offers a growing collection of free tools for Premium Bonds holders:

Privacy & Security

Your bond numbers never leave your device. The checker works entirely in your browser — we download the prize list, then your browser compares it against your bonds locally. No bond numbers are ever sent to our servers. You can verify this yourself using your browser's Developer Tools (Network tab) if you're technically inclined.

We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't use tracking beyond basic analytics to understand which pages are useful. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

No Ads, No Sponsors

PB Prizes is completely ad-free and carries no sponsored content. Financial tools should give you unbiased answers — the moment a savings provider pays to appear on this site, every comparison result becomes suspect. The site is funded entirely by voluntary contributions from users. If you find it useful, you can support the project to help cover hosting costs.

Not Affiliated with NS&I

This site is completely independent and has no affiliation with National Savings and Investments (NS&I). We use publicly available data from NS&I to power our tools, but we're not endorsed by or connected to them in any way. For official Premium Bonds information, always refer to nsandi.com.
